The duo of Augustinas Rakauskas (accordion) and Greta Staponkute-Rakau (viola) started their first musical steps in London, 2012. The same year both musicians started studying chamber music together in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and Vytautas Magnus University of Music and focused on developing their repertoire.
“Tutto a Dio” is based on an exclusive combination of the instruments - viola and accordion which has been one of the most exceptional combinations in the world. The duo’s repertoire has a wide range of different genres from baroque, classical and modern compositions to tango nuevo and contemporary music. The ensemble’s activity in six-year time accelerated significantly.
The Duo has received professional recognition in international competitions worldwide by winning most important competitions – 1st Prize in “Premio Internazionale di Castelfidardo 2017” (Italy), 1st Prize in “Trophée Mondial – 2017” (France) and the 1st prize winners of chamber music in “Coupe Mondiale 2018” in Lithuania.
Both musicians were awarded by the President of the Republic of Lithuania for their achievements.
Their intensive concert tours has brought them to play in the man countries all around the world. They performed in different places in Europe - Lausanne, Geneva, Sion, Sofia Philharmonic, Istanbul, Riga, Vilnius, Athens, Rome as well as USA - Los Angeles, New York, Florida, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Baltimore. |
